Our Editorial Guidelines

At TinyKitchenGuy.com, my mission is simple: help you find the best kitchen gear, tools, and tips for cooking smarter in small spaces without the fluff, fakery, or recycled Amazon blurbs.

Here’s how I test and review, and make sure every piece of content is helpful, honest, and human:

1. Real Experience, Not Copy-Paste Content

I write everything based on:

  • Hands-on product testing in my own (tiny) apartment kitchen
  • Research from trusted sources and verified user reviews
  • Actual cooking experience as a solo guy trying to eat well without making a mess

I never use spun, generated articles or outsource content to random freelancers. If I didn’t write it, test it, or research it – it doesn’t get published. If someone else writes it, it will be published under their name, and it will be a cooking gear enthusiast just like me.

2. Fact-Checking and Product Verification

All gear featured on this site goes through:

  • Manual spec checks from official brand sites
  • Performance validation from real-world use or user feedback
  • Availability verification. If it’s not in stock or discontinued, I’ll say so

If something changes, such as price, availability, or major quality issues, I update the page or remove the product altogether.

3. Expert Input Where Needed

While I’m not a licensed chef or engineer, I bring lived experience as a guy who:

  • Spent years optimizing cooking setups in small apartments
  • Tried and tested a ridiculous amount of budget appliances
  • Knows what actually works when you’re cooking for one

If a topic is outside my wheelhouse (e.g., food safety, electrical safety), I link to or cite expert guidance from trusted sources like FDA.gov, Consumer Reports, or Wirecutter.

4. Zero Sponsorship Bias

I don’t do paid reviews.
I don’t push junk for commissions.
And I turn down brand offers that don’t align with the site’s mission.

If a post contains affiliate links, it’s disclosed clearly – and every recommendation is earned, not bought.

5. Regular Updates

Tech changes, gear evolves, and brands can get worse.
That’s why I review and update key pages at least once every 3 months, or sooner if:

  • A product becomes unavailable or outdated
  • A better alternative hits the market
  • Readers flag issues I wasn’t aware of

You’ll always see a “Last Updated” date at the top of every major guide.

Open to Feedback

I take reader feedback seriously. If you spot an error, disagree with a review, or have a better tool I should try – contact me. I’ll reply personally.

The Bottom Line

This site exists to help real people cook better in small kitchens. I write for the solo cook, the student, the working guy, and anyone trying to make real meals with limited time, space, and patience.

Every post on this site is written with that mission in mind. If you wish, learn more about me here.
